From January to June 2012, three hundred youth, from 13 municipal public schools in Rio de Janeiro, attended capacity building workshops to get better prepared for the formal job market. Each workshop, with four hour duration, touched on topics such as appropriate attire, behavior, commitment and responsibility related to the interview process and work. In addition to the theoretical part, there was a practical component simulating a real selection process with group dynamics, written test and interview. This initiative adds up to English Language classes provided by the +Oportunidades Project, which is supported by the +Unidos Group together with USAID, and implemented by Instituto Empreender. Socio and economic disadvantaged youth from the municipalities of Belford Roxo, Duque de Caxias, Itaboraí, Mesquita, Nilópolis, São Gonçalo, and the city of Rio de Janeiro, were benefited by this initiative.
