At PepsiCo, we’re committed to achieving business and financial success while leaving a positive imprint on society – delivering what we call Performance with Purpose.
Performance with Purpose is at the heart of every aspect of our business. We believe financial achievement can and must go hand-in-hand with social and environmental performance.
Our approach to superior financial performance is straightforward – drive shareholder value. By integrating a commitment to social and environmental performance into all of our businesses, we’re able to manufacture our products more efficiently and economically, attract even more of the world’s best talent, and sharpen our competitive edge in markets all over the world.
Morgan Stanley recognizes that a healthy and sustainable environment is critically important to our global society, our economy, our business and our people. We believe that we have a responsibility to manage and leverage our resources — and the work we do as one of the world’s leading financial services firms — in a way that promotes a healthy environment. As such, we are committed to considering environmental issues in all aspects of our business, including how we evaluate companies, transactions and risk; how we collaborate with and serve our clients, financing partners and employees; how we conduct our own operations; and how we promote and develop new market opportunities.
This commitment is outlined in the Morgan Stanley Environmental Policy Statement, which was established in 2002 and updated in 2007. As discussed in more detail below, we have made important progress toward our key environmental objectives, including a recent announcement to become “carbon neutral” globally by 2008. To this end, the Firm will offset those emissions we cannot yet reduce through our extensive energy and greenhouse gas reduction efforts in our buildings, travel and waste management. These steps reaffirm our belief in addressing the environment at home first in order to be credible and responsible to our shareholders and clients.”
