Easter Lacta strengthens partnership with AACD and donates R$250 thousand in Teleton

At last Nov. 10, with live broadcast by SBT and the presence of the characters Pascoal and Pascoalete, brand Lacta, of Mondel?z Brazil, made ??the donation of a R$ 250 thousand check on Teleton, an annual event to collect resources for children of AACD.

In seven years of partnership, approximately $ 1.5 million were donated in funds reversed in equipment and improvements made on the premises of an entity that serves thousands of children and adolescents with disabilities. This is the current balance of the initiative that unites, since 2005, Easter Lacta and AACD (Association for Support of Children with Disabilities).

Continued without interruption throughout this period, the action involves the production of eggs and chocolate bunnies of Pascoal with the seal of the AACD. With this initiative, the company has enhanced its potential social benefits to the entity that makes the difference in the segment.

This year’s donation from Mondel?z Brasil will allow the AACD to purchase equipment to conduct video surgeries. According to Renata Del Claro, marketing manager from Easter Lacta, “next year we will keep the partnership ensuring the presence of the egg Pascoal in the market, giving the same value to the organization and delivering 10 000 eggs to the children of AACD throughout Brazil. “

Dow and The Nature Conservancy announce a pilot project of collaboration in Brazil

A Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) e The Nature Conservancy (TNC) anunciaram dia 13 de junho, que estão se unindo com a Santa Vitória Açúcar e Álcool Ltda (SVAA), uma joint venture entre a Dow e a Mitsui & Co. Ltd., para utilizar a planta brasileira da empresa, como o segundo local piloto de sua colaboração. Executivos da joint venture Dow-Mitsui (SVAA) e da TNC estiveram presentes no gabinete do governador de Minas Gerais para o anúncio público que contou com a presença do governador Antonio Augusto Junho Anastasia, membros de sua equipe, membros da imprensa, e também da secretária de Desenvolvimento Econômico de Minas Gerais, Dorothea Werneck.

Neil Hawkins, vice-presidente de Sustentabilidade e Meio Ambiente, Saúde e Segurança da Dow Chemical,  Pedro Suarez, presidente da Dow para a América Latina, João Campari, diretor do Programa da Mata Atlântica e Savanas Central da The Nature Conservancy e Yoshinobu Watanabe da joint venture Dow-Mitsui (SVAA) se reuniram com o governador para compartilhar uma visão geral dos objetivos da colaboração – bem como suas intenções comuns para a segunda planta piloto. Dow e TNC explicaram como o trabalho em Santa Vitória pode beneficiar as comunidades locais e a sociedade em geral, melhorando as decisões em torno de terras agrícolas, garantindo o acesso à água potável, a criação de habitats naturais, além da proteção e recuperação de florestas vitais.

(Português) Consul: Consulado da Mulher aprova novos projetos que irão beneficiar empreendimentos populares no Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul e em São Paulo

O Instituto Consulado da Mulher, ação social da marca Consul que oferece assessoria a mulheres de baixa renda e pouca escolaridade, aprovou novos projetos de fomento à geração de trabalho e renda de importantes parceiros como SOS Mata Atlântica, Instituto Aliança, Associação Redes de Desenvolvimento da Maré, Arco Sertão e Fundação do Trabalho de Mato Grosso Sul, que beneficiarão mais de 350 pessoas. Essas organizações atuam em conjunto com o Consulado da Mulher por meio do Programa Usinas do Trabalho, cujo objetivo é fortalecer a atuação de instituições que já trabalham com o incentivo à geração de renda à pequenos empreendimentos de todo o Brasil.

Nos meses de abril e maio, as instituições contempladas receberão a  Metodologia de Assessoria a Empreendimentos Solidários, desenvolvida pelo Consulado da Mulher e certificada pela Fundação Banco do Brasil, UNESCO e KPMG. Com ela, poderão acompanhar, avaliar e trabalhar os pontos de desenvolvimento do empreendimento que apoiam a partir de quesitos como gestão financeira, relações de trabalho, princípios de autogestão e responsabilidade ambiental.Além disso, 77 eletrodomésticos Consul foram doados e irão permitir que empreendimentos de alimentação iniciem ou ampliem sua produção, pois, de outra forma, não teriam como realizar um investimento inicial suficiente para começar suas atividades. A SOS Mata Atlântica, por exemplo, que tem como missão contribuir com a proteção e recuperação dos mananciais da Guarapiranga e a melhoria da qualidade de vida de suas populações, recebeu dois fogões, três refrigeradores, um ar condicionado e um freezer. Com isso, a Fundação possibilitará que os grupos por ela assessorados possam fabricar alimentos e mantê-los conservados até o momento da venda.

Kraft Foods: Conscious Attitude Program

Based on commitment with sustainability and corporate responsibility, this program intends to create an environment of preservations, conscious consumption e responsible utilization of natural resources and promulgate initiatives of sustainability between collaborators, their families and community`s.

The project, launched in 2007, was structured based in 2 structures: improvements in processes and accomplishment, reducing the utilization of natural resources in the entire company in a continuous process (technic) , change of cultural and commitment  of the collaborators (Corporate Communications).

About 50 thousand people, among collaborators, third parties, neighbors and students were impacted by the program through information about environment preservation, recycling and responsible consumption.

This program is developed by Kraft Foods, a collaborator to +Unidos Group.

Deloitte: 1st Project Community and Graac award

The 1st Community Project developed by  Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu gathered  15 youth (between 13 and 19 years), from Centro de Assistência Social Nossa Senhora da Piedade, for lectures with the following subjects: job market, how to build a curriculum and how to behave in a job interview.

Deloitte was also honored by Graac (Assistance Grupo for Youth and Child with Cancer), as a partner business on the hospital construction.

3M Institute: World day against child labor

The World day against child labor is celebrated in June 12th. In Brazil, the Constitution prohibits the employment of children under 16 years old – except apprentices with, at least, 14 years. Seeking public awareness, during 12 days of June, the Abrinq organized actions in several cities and had the support of 3M Brazil.

The demonstration took place in form of a flash mob (fast mobilization) at strategic points in the cities of Sao Paulo, Campinas, Santos, Diadema, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Suzano and Olinda, where flyers about the campaign “Let’s end child labor”  and 8000 Post-it ® were distributed, donated by a partnership between the Products Office division of 3M and the 3M Institute for Social Innovation. In one hour of mobilization in MASP in São Paulo (SP), over a thousand signatures were collected against the  Constitution Amendment Proposal (PEC) 18/2011 that intends to authorize the work, under the part-time, starting at 14.

P&G Brazil: Project Nursery for All Children

 P&G Brazil and Abrinq – Save the Children announced, on 06 June, the beginning of a partnership that will benefit children served by day care centers throughout Brazil. The initiative is part of Project Nursery for All Children, created by the Abrinq Foundation, the project intends to empower educators and coordinators, as well as the adequacy of the physical space of eight day care centers located around the business units of P&G in the cities of Sao Paulo, Louveira and Anchieta (SP); Jacarepaguá, Burnley, Itatiaia and Seropédica (RJ) and Manaus (AM).

3M: Formare ends 1st classes with students employed

In July, the Project Formare of professional education ended it`s first class, started in August 2011 and served 20 youth from low income families in the area of Automotive Repair and Painting at the headquarters of 3M Sumaré (SP).

During one year, students got in contact with two sets of disciplines aimed at training as a citizen, with ethics, initiative, social and environmental responsibility, besides the development of skills to work as a professional. The classes were taught by the volunteer staff at the company.

HP sponsors international environmental education competition

Sao Paulo, June 15, 2012 - Brazil was chosen to host the 2nd edition of EVOKE, international online educational game that aims to boost large-scale environmental learning and collaborative innovation using technology from social networking. Inspired by the World Bank, the Brazilian version of the game is sponsored by HP. To 15-22 years old, EVOKE-Brazil is undergoing tests that will continue until the first half of June and the official version will come out in the second semester 2012.

HP encourages youth entrepreneurship

The social responsibility area of HP, called Social Innovation, focuses its work on projects that stimulate economic development and sustainable society by giving people new ways to be more creative, productive and successful through the power of information technology . And one of these programs is the Social Innovation Relay, an international competition organized in partnership with Junior Achievement institution.

The program aims to develop in young people new business skills and entrepreneurship. HP employees devote four hours per month to the training of these young people, showing them the role in real life as future entrepreneurs.

In the first phase of the program, young people aged 15 to 18 years in public schools across the country participate in lectures given by employees of the company about innovation. Students who are interested form groups and, under the guidance of volunteers, show an idea of ??social innovation that has a positive impact on society.

The first stage of the competition takes place at the national level. Then the winning idea competes globally online with bids from 13 other countries, including USA, India, France, Egypt, Russia and South Africa

In 2011, there was the involvement of 53 volunteers from HP, 10 schools in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, 23 teams were made and 737 students were impacted by the program. The project from Eco Style team, from Porto Alegre, was the national winner with a sound chip that helps the visually impaired to cross public roads, increasing its safety. Overall, a Russian project, with actions to encourage the development and sale of  recycled products, was the champion

This year, in Brazil, 37 volunteers participated in the first phase of classroom visit students, 35 teams were formed and 1,016 students were affected by the Social Innovation Relay in 10 schools of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Victoria. The competition with students of Brazilian schools is already occurring and, in the second semester, will happen the global stage.
