Faced with the serious health crisis faced by Amazonas due to the worsening of the new coronavirus pandemic, 15 large companies and entities in the country came together to carry out a solidarity action with the aim of supporting the region. The group will make a donation to the program United Against Covid-19 (unidos.fiocruz.br) of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) in the amount of R $ 1.6 million, referring to an oxygen production plant, which should give support to public hospitals in the region. So far, the Foundation has donated 5 of these plants, with the support of the private sector.
The group, entitled Juntos pelo Amazonas, has the participation of Ambev, BNP Paribas, BRF, Coca-Cola Brasil, Grupo + Unidos, Magalu, Mercado Livre, Nestlé Brasil, Petrobras, Sesc, SulAmérica, WEG, Whirlpool, XP Inc. and Yamaha.
The action of these companies has the institutional support of Eletros – National Association of Manufacturers of Electronic Products -, which helped in the creation of the group.
The commitment of the companies in Juntos pelo Amazonas will be with the donation of resources for the machines and accessories of the new plant, which has one of the most advanced technologies applied to this type of equipment and has the capacity to serve a hospital unit in 12 intensive care beds and 80 hospital beds and emergency care simultaneously.
